From “I Love Halloween” to Finished Designs: How One Spooky Idea Turned Into a Whole Collection

Ever wonder what happens when you send me a message and say, “I love Halloween. The spooky kind. I could live in Halloween all year round.” 😏

Well… this is what happens.

One little idea turns into a full design process.

That’s one of my favorite things about custom work. A customer doesn’t always come to me with every little detail figured out. Sometimes they just give me a vibe, a feeling, or a theme they love — and from there, I start building.

For this idea, the vibe was clear:

spooky, not silly

moody, not cutesy

Halloween, but the kind you’d still love long after October ends.

So I took that one thought and turned it into a collection of designs that each have their own look and personality.

Design 1: Somewhere Between Lost and Haunted

This one leans into that dark, moody haunted-house feeling.

Think moonlight, fog, ravens, graveyard gates, and that eerie kind of beauty that makes you want to stare at it a little too long. It’s spooky, dramatic, and perfect for someone who wants Halloween with a darker edge.

This design feels like it belongs to the person who would absolutely decorate for Halloween early and has no intention of apologizing for it.

Design 2: Pretty Things Can Have Dark Edges

This design is a little softer, a little gothic, and a little beautifully creepy.

The skull, roses, moths, and candlelight give it that dark romantic feel without going full horror. It’s spooky, but elegant. Creepy, but still beautiful.

This one is for the customer who loves Halloween, but also loves a little drama, a little gothic beauty, and maybe just a tiny bit of “don’t touch my stuff unless you want to get haunted.”

Design 3: A Little Strange. A Little Magic.

This one takes a more mystical turn.

With the raven, moon phases, potions, candles, and magical details, it leans into the witchy side of spooky season. It still fits the Halloween mood, but it also works for the people who carry that vibe year-round.

If your style says spooky with a side of moonlit chaos, this one was basically made for you.

Design 4: Normal Was Never the Plan

And then there’s this one — the vintage Halloween troublemaker of the group.

This design brings in the carnival feel, the black cat, the jack-o’-lantern glow, and that old-school Halloween energy with a darker twist. It’s fun, bold, and just the right amount of unhinged.

Honestly, this one pretty much sums up the whole collection. Normal was never the plan, and frankly, that sounds about right.

What I Love Most About Custom Design

What I love most about this process is that it starts with something simple.

A sentence.

A mood.

A random thought.

A “hey, can you make something with this?” message.

That’s all it takes.

You don’t need to have the whole design planned out before you reach out. If you know what you love — spooky, western, floral, patriotic, sarcastic, soft, loud, weird, magical, rustic, or all of the above — I can take that and start building from there.

That’s the fun part.

Got an Idea? Send It Anyway.

If you’ve got a theme you love, a photo you want turned into something custom, or even just a half-formed idea floating around in your head, send it my way.

That’s how some of the best designs start.

Think it. Want it. Get it.
